# Milkman

> Ask Milkman, the MilkStraw AI assistant, about your AWS spend, resources, savings, and findings.

Milkman is the AI assistant built into MilkStraw AI. Ask it questions in plain English about your AWS spend, resources, savings, and findings, in the app or in Slack.

<Note>
  Milkman is in beta.
</Note>

## Open Milkman

Click **Ask Milkman** in the bar at the bottom of the app, or press `c`.

Type your question in **Ask Milkman...**, or start with a suggestion such as "Where am I spending the most?".

## What Milkman can access

* Milkman only reads data. It can’t change your AWS resources or your MilkStraw AI settings.
* Milkman only works with the organization you have selected.
* Milkman answers only with the data that you can see in the app, based on your [role](/roles).
* AWS can take up to 2 days to report costs, so the most recent days may be missing from spend answers.

## Chats

* Click **Open history** to see your recent chats in the current organization.
* When you change topics, click the plus button to start a new chat.
