Using a secure, read-only cross-account role, MilkStraw AI regularly reads key usage and cost data from your AWS account. This includes information about your running instances and services, as well as your existing savings coverage and on-demand spend.

Identifying Opportunities

Based on the monitoring analysis, MilkStraw AI identifies two primary scenarios:

  • Uncovered On-Demand Usage: If our analysis shows you have on-demand usage that could be covered by , we identify this as a savings opportunity.
  • Underutilized Savings: If the analysis of milkboxes already in your organization indicates underutilized , we identify these as candidates for removal.

Triggering Actions

Identifying these opportunities or underutilization scenarios triggers actions to optimize your savings:

  • Finding savings opportunities leads to MilkStraw AI transferring relevant milkboxes to your organization.
  • Finding underutilized savings leads to the removal of those specific milkboxes from your organization.

This continuous process ensures that the savings provided by MilkStraw AI dynamically align with your actual cloud usage, maximizing cost efficiency.
